I cannot claim to be
an expert, keep that in mind as I write this. What I can
tell you is the ways that have worked with me. Almost everyone
will have their particular “flavor” of how they
like to work things and I can assure you that I have tried
most. Some may argue this article because they found something
that worked for them instead of what I wrote. Again, keep
that in mind and remember that I am offering you the best
advice possible with the best intentions of trying to make
your first night a success.
Now, a lot of the timetable
is going to depend on when you arrive into Angeles City
but for the purpose of this writing I am going to assume
that you are ready to “Rock & Roll” around
approx 6pm, when the bar’s open. This “plan”
still works though up until about 10pm’ish. If you
arrive after, go into one of the bars mentioned and start
from there.
The first thing that
I would advise you to do is to get yourself a “focal
point”. Typically this will be your hotel, however
I have seen quite a few newbie’s get mixed up on whether
they walked down the street or up the street. The easiest
one of remember is Kokomo’s (sign says Kokonutz) or
Subdelicious. These two establishments are located right
on Fields Ave. and are pretty much centrally located. I
have absolutely ZERO doubt that your head is spinning like
a top when you first arrive, just remember that you likely
have over 1-week to explore and trying to “hit it
all” on your first night is rather difficult. In fact,
I don’t think I have met a single newbie that got
past 5 bars before getting “distracted” by a
girl.
Many may argue what
is the “best bar”, but when it comes to the
“first bar” there are only two that I recommend.
The first one would be Roadhouse, which is located just
past Subdelicious. The girls are told not to pressure the
customers and it will afford you an opportunity to sit back
and get the overall big picture of what you can expect in
the other bars: Girls on stage dancing, bartender, waitress
taking your drink, music playing, etc. Now, if you feel
that you have gotten your footing, feel free to call one
of the girls over that catch your eye. Buy her a lady drink
and TELL her that you are a “Cherry Boy”. I
personally never hesitate to tell a girl that a buddy I
am with is a “virgin” to Angeles because their
eyes light up and they seem to love to talk about the whole
scene. Additionally they are pretty open to answer any and
all questions you throw their way.
The second bar that
I advise going to is Voodoo, which is located in the side
corner of Kokonutz. This is +Trance+’s “home
bar”, and for a good reason. The atmosphere is nice,
the management is good, the girls are cute and the waitresses
are VERY sociable and have been around the scenes for awhile
(it’s funny seeing pictures over 5 years old and the
waitress is a dancer in them). Again, you can ask them many
questions you may have and it let’s you get your feet
wet just a little bit more because the dancers DO pay attention
to you and sometimes give you a little flirtatious pinch
as they walk by to the dressing room. Also the girls are
just a little more aggressive if they like you, which is
a good thing for your ass because it will help you to start
picking up the “signs”.
Next on the agenda
would have to be Angels for me. The papasan there is top-notch
(named Allan) and an Aussie. Shout him a beer or two if
you like, chat it up and/or casually call a girl or two
over and get to know her. Slightly bigger then the previously
mentioned bars, Angels will help you to get your feet wet
a little more and those “signs” you learned
in Voodoo will start to pay off because the girls will play
the “looking game” with you. (The “looking
game” is where they look at you, but as soon as you
let them know you are looking AT THEM the act shy.)
Past that, it is an
open playing field. I don’t know where you are from
or what you like in terms of bars, so I can only give you
advice on how I go about things. I personally like BIG bars
and fancy lighting with more upbeat music. To fulfill this
I head to Blue Nile, Blue Nile Executive (popular), Misty's,
Nero's Forum, Champagne (popular), Voodoo, Lollipop, Angels,
La Pasha, Las Vegas, Bunny Ranch or Camelot.
Either way you go,
I am going to offer you some of the best advice yet. Pick
a girl relatively early and TAKE HER BARHOPPING with you.
Again, let her know upfront that you are a newbie to Angeles
City (commonly referred to as “AC”) and that
you would like to see what there is with her. ASK her if
she would mind showing you around. Likely you will end up
at one of her friends or cousins bars initially, but I have
never encountered a problem when I tell a girl I would like
to leave. Again, she lives here and you do not which means
you should treat her as a valuable asset. Now, during the
course of the evening she will typically ask you, “What
girl you like?” THIS IS A TEST and your answer needs
to be, “I like you!” …..and try to say
it like you mean it, jerky.
On a side-note, it’s
also beneficial if you are able to team up with another
guy. The easiest way to do this is to check the Members
Calendar and then send a message to one of the members
visiting at the time. You would be surprised how many people
are going the same time as you and most almost never turn
down a barhop. We also have a section on our Message Board
that the calendar feeds off of, so if you haven’t
signed up yet I would advise you to and then go check out
our forums section titled “Tell us when you’re
visiting”
